Modernise an old house internally and externally and improving the flow, look and feel of this home.
THE PROJECT
Externally, clever solutions were found for both the design and efficiency of the home. The house was selectively reclad with the clever use of a sleek dark timber in combination with other contemporary materials. Automated external blinds were installed to maximise the passive heating and cooling, taking full advantage of the property’s north easterly aspect. A large first floor balcony and terrace were completely renewed. These areas were impractical in their existing state and were identified as valuable entertaining spaces, our clients wanted to take full advantage of sweeping water views, cooling summer breezes and the warming winter sun.,
Inside for this renovation, the home was completely stripped and given a new life with a minimalist feel using modern materials to create a timeless look and feel. The ceiling and walls were relined, new floors were laid, with windows and doors being replaced throughout.
ADDED CONVENIENCE
NorthAspect Building’s flexible working practices enabled the clients to live in the house for the duration of the renovation, representing a significant cost saving. Our diligence ensured this family of four lived in a clean, safe and comfortable environment for the entire renovation.
